Lowhard "Louie" Lenz, age 90 of Little Falls, died Wednesday, March 29 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 3 at 11:00 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, with Pastor Gary Hendrickson officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Monday at the church. Interment will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery North of Little Falls.
Lowhard "Louie" Erich Lenz was born on February 24, 1927 in Brownton, MN to John and Angeline (Schwarzrock) Lenz. He was baptized on March 18, 1927 in Brownton and was later confirmed on June 8, 1941 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, MN. Louie graduated from Winthrop High School and was drafted into the United States Army. He served in Germany during World War II from 1945 – 1946. After his time in the service, Louie worked various jobs before he began his career as a truck driver until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Lydia Pulkrabek on May 19, 1962 in Silverlake, MN. The couple enjoyed their younger years together by going out to dinner and old-time dancing. Louie was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls where he volunteered as an usher. He liked to spend time taking care of his yard, especially mowing lawn. His other hobbies included playing cards and going pheasant hunting. Louie had a great sense of humor and will be remembered as a quiet, gentle man with a huge heart.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Evelyn of Little Falls, MN; sister, Luella DeMenge of Hutchinson, MN; special friends, Pat and Jerry Knafla of Little Falls, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Edna (Sulo) Kanniainen and Agnes (Alton) Peterson; brother, Roman (Audrey) Lenz; and brother-in-law, Eugene DeMenge.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.
