Donovan “Don” Farris, 84 year old resident of Sartell died Monday, August 6 at his home in Sartell. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. The burial will be held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and one hour prior to services on Thursday.
Donovan was born August 9, 1933 to Roy and Gladys Farris in Bertha. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the United State Army as an Army Specialist Third Class. Donovan married the love of his life, Kay on February 11, 1978 in Little Falls. He owned and operated many Auto Value Parts Stores and was also involved in Automotive Parts Headquarters for many years. Don enjoyed spending time on the river, boating and camping. He also enjoyed carpentry work, politics and investments. Don was appreciative of his caregivers and doctors and was very proud of his family and work family. Don was a compassionate, humble and generous man he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kay of Sartell; children, Tad Farris (Jo Bemboom) of Sartell, Tim Farris of St. Joseph, Nikki Bohnen of Little Falls, Kimberlee Lorentzen of Sartell, Kristin Lorentzen-Drenckhahn of San Antonio TX; former son-in-law, Boyd Drenckhahn; siblings, Midge Gonsior of Minneapolis, Sandy Doege of Alexandria; grandchildren, Kaylee Bohnen, Samantha Farris, Jake Farris, Lauren and Jack Drenckhahn; and two great grandchildren, Nikita and Samuel and many nieces, nephews and co-workers.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Farris.
