Joseph “Joe” Osvold, 55 year old resident of Fort Ripley died Sunday, November 11 in Fort Ripley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 16 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with Father Benjamin Kociemba. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and from 9:00-10:30 A.M. on Friday all visitation times will be held at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service. A parish prayer will be held on Thursday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Joseph “Joe” Osvold was born February 21, 1963 in Brainerd, MN to Keith and Patsy Ann (Wolvert) Osvold. He grew up on a farm in Pine Center area and attended Brainerd High School. He was united in marriage to Charlene Plante in 1988. The couple made their home in Fort Ripley, MN where they built their home together. This home was filled with love and memories forever. Joe was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and logging. He owned and operated Osvold Logging.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Charlene Ann of Fort Ripley; sons, Andrew (Tori) Osvold of Little Falls, Ryan (Amber) Osvold of Pine Center, Matthew (Maria) Osvold of Fort Ripley; grandson, Lincoln George; mother Patsy Wolvert of Pine Center; father, Keith Osvold of Emily; siblings, John (Denise) Osvold of Brainerd, Jackie (Jason) Otto of Brainerd, Julie (Chad) Rubner of Garfield and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Art (Laverne) Osvold, Jerry (Katie) Wolvert; uncles, Dave Wolvert, Albin Wolvert, Bill Wolvert and aunts, Janie Hettver and Jean Cronquist.
In lieu of flowers family would prefer memorials.
