Romell Welle, 88 year old resident of Lastrup died Monday, December 24 at her home with her loving family by her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. John’s Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup. Father David Maciej will officiate and burial will be held in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, December 28, 2018 at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday in Lastrup. The Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4:30 PM, The parish prayers will be said at 5:30 PM followed by Knight’s of Columbus prayers at 7:00 P.M.
Romell was born on July 21, 1930 to Joseph and Bertha (Leidenfrost) Kippley in Agram Township. After she graduated from St. Francis High School in Little Falls, she worked as a nursing assistant in Rochester and as a secretary in Little Falls. On May 30, 1950 Romell married Harold Welle, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz. The couple made Lastrup their home, where Romell stayed home raising their ten children. She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, bowling and playing cards. Most of all she enjoyed spending time and making memories with her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of St. John’s Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup and of the Christian Mothers.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 68 years, Harold Welle of Lastrup; sons, Jim (Ann) Welle of Pierz, Dale of Farmington, Dean (Paula) Welle of Little Falls, Alan (Carol) Welle of Hillman, John (Diana) Welle of Aitkin; daughters, Yvonne (Jim) Betts of St. Cloud, Ann (Steve) Brunswig of Sauk Centre, Donna (Felix) Norman of Plymouth, Joanne (Keith) Broschofsky of Pierz, Lonna (Kurt) Becker of Brainerd; 23 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Emogene Langer; and brothers, Lloyd and Jerome Kippley.
