Allen J. Skochenski

September 7, 1940 — October 18, 2018

Allen Skochenski, age 78, resident of Pierz passed away on October 18, 2018 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding. Father David Maciej will officiate and burial will be held in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the start of Mass on Tuesday at the church in Harding.

Allen was born September7, 1940 to Stephen and Mary (Hoppe) in Little Falls. After High School, he proudly joined the United States Military. Allen worked in construction for many years before his retirement. He was a life member of the local 563 Union just recently receiving his 50 year pin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and taking care of his pristine lawn. Allen was a prankster and quick witted, never letting an opportunity go by. Allen loved his family dearly especially, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his faithful girls (dogs).

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Sherry of Pierz; sons, Bryan of Rogers, Brad (Shelly) of Elk River, Wes (Tracy) of St. Cloud, Wayne (Jenny Johnson) of Elk River; 11 grandchildren, Tanya, Mindy, A.J., Sara, Bryanna, Hannah, Drew, Chase, Cody, Michael, and Ryan; and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Helen Rudolph, John Jack Skochenski, Adonna Hanson, Lucille Wiczek, Duane Skochenski, Patricia Sypnieski, Elizabeth Skochenski; father and mother in law, Henry and Jeanette Schulte; sister in law, Jeanne Schulte and brothers in law, Henry Schulte Jr., Daniel Litke and Arthur Woitalla.

In Leiu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Cloud Stroke Center.

The family would like to thank the staff of the 6th Floor Neurology department at the St. Cloud Hospital, Dr. Cowardin and Dr. McNamara for their care and compassion that they had given to Allen.
