Alois 'Al' F. Kapsner

Alois "Al" Kapsner, age 96, of Lastrup, MN, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 27, 2007 at St. John's Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup, MN, with Rev. Nick Landsberger & Rev. Gerald Dalseth concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8pm on Thursday, April 26th at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz with a rosary at 4:30 and parish prayers 7:00pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:00 - 10:30am. Alois Francis Kapsner was born on April 30, 1910 in Pierz, Minnesota to the late August & Petronella (Schmidtbauer) Kapsner. He attended school through the 8th grade. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Stangl on June 7, 1937 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. The couple lived on a farm east of Lastrup. Al worked as a bookkeeper at Hartmann's General Store in Pierz for over 40 years. He enjoyed baseball and card playing. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Lastrup where he sang in the choir for over 30 years. He always believed in doing what was right and insisted his children do the same. Survivors include his children, Br. Rolland Kapsner, MSF of Seguin, TX, Gerald (Marilyn) Kapsner of Little Falls, MN, Daniel (Patricia) Kapsner of Mankato, MN, Maurice (Linda) Kapsner of Minnetrista, MN, Eugene (Joan) Kapsner of Cambridge, WI, Warren (Joyce) Kapsner of Golden Valley, MN, John (Donna) Kapsner of North Mankato, MN and Gregory (Sue) Kapsner of Maple Grove, MN; daughter, Lucille (David) Burggraff of Spring Hill, FL; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gertrude (Stangl) Kapsner (Oct. 22, 2004); daughters, Beatrice, Maureen and Mary; brothers, Michael, August, John, Leonard, George, Fred, Edward and Joseph; sisters, Mathilda, Priscilla, Anna, Rose and Theresa.
