Alvin "Al" Pike

Pike, Alvin C. CP(E) of Minnetonka, MN Passed away June 14, 2018 at the age of 76 from Leukemia. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. Father Timothy Wenzel will officiate and burial will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls following Mass. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at church on Monday.

Al was born January 6, 1942 in Jackson, Mississippi to Clifford A. Pike and Mary (Rudolph) Pike. Al is preceded in death by his sister Minnetta Louise Kloek. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Pike; nephew Steve Kloek; niece, Stephanie Towley and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Al had a passion for flying and joined the USAF (SAC) after graduating from Little Falls High School. During his time in the Air Force Al took up two other lifelong interests, prosthetics and photography. Because of his interest in Prosthetics he attended Northwestern University, The Feinberg School of Medicine. After graduating from Northwestern University he worked for Otto Bock Orthopedic Industry, Amputee Rehabilitation Services and the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN as the Senior Prosthetist and as the IRAC Prosthetist Consultant. Upon retirement from the VA he took up (Aviation) photography full time. He combined his love of aviation, photography and service to the country by joining the Aircraft Pilots Association, The Air Force Association, MN Pilots Association, Planes of Fame East, the International Society for Aviation Photography, the Fort Snelling Camera Club, 8th Airforce and the American Legion Aviation Post 511. He also started a photography club for seniors called The Shutterbugs at the Minnetonka Community Center. Special Thanks go out to Rosie, Jean, Lori, Ken, MaryAnne, Kaye, Dale, Joe, Patricia, Elizabeth, JoAnne and the Doctors and nursing staff at the VA Medical Center and the incredibly caring staff in the ICU.
