Bernice Huver, 87 year old resident of Pierz, passed away on Sunday, September 28 at the Pierz Villa Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 2 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman with Father Marv Enneking officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz and from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of the service on Thursday, October 2 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman. A parish prayer will be said at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home.

Bernice Irene Piasecki was born on December 7, 1937 in Pulaski Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Casmier and Lucille (Pularski) Piasecki. She grew up in Pulaski Township and attended District #87 Country School. Bernice was united in marriage to Gerald Waytashek in 1953 and the couple made their home in rural Pierz. Gerald died in 1966 and Bernice continued living in Rural Pierz. In 1967, She married Henry "Hank" Huver and the couple resided in Morrison County. Bernice worked at Larson Boats in Little Falls in the lamination and cutting room from 1988 until 2005. She moved into Kaminic Apartments in 2007 and in 2020 she moved into Rose Court Apartments in Pierz. Bernice most recently resided at Meadow Ponds.

Bernice enjoyed reading, playing cribbage, embroidery, cross stitching, crocheting, Farkle and playing cards especially, smear. Bernice had a love for children of all ages. She had a knack for listening to them and making them feel special. She was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael (Cathy) Waytashek, Faye (Gary) Diederich, Daniel Waytashek, Lucille (Charles) Windorski, Diane (Jamie Magness) Tretter, Lisa (Rick) Eisel, Billie (Jason Woitalla) Zupan, Mary (Kel) Jansen; 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gerald Waytashek and Hank Huver; children, Lori Waytashek, Rose Waytashek, Lyle Waytashek and Allen Waytashek; siblings, Richard Piasecki, Dolores Paul and Loretta Rudie.
