Bertha J. Jedlicki, age 99 of Pierz formerly of Morrill passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Pierz Villa in Pierz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 23, 2018 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Morrill. Father Laurn Virnig will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the start of Mass at the church on Friday.

Bertha Josephine (Kurtz) Jedlicki was born November 7, 1919 in Granite Township, Morrison County, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Waytashek) Kurtz. She grew up in Granite Township and attended school in District 97 through the 8th grade. Following her schooling, and at the age of 15, Bertha worked assisting mothers with new babies. She later moved to Minneapolis and worked as a housekeeper. She was united in marriage on November 16, 1940 to Aloise Jedlicki at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz. The couple lived in Lakin Township, Morrison County, later moving to rural Morrill where they farmed. Bertha and Aloise sold their farm and retired in 1980. In 2001, Bertha moved to Country Place in Pierz while Aloise moved to St. Benedicts Senior Community in St. Cloud. Aloise passed away in 2003.

Bertha enjoyed crocheting, fishing, traveling, and playing bingo and cards with her dear friends at Country Place. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers in Morrill.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Frances (Jay) Wilson of Arizona, RoseMary (Alan) Moulzolf of Pierz, Richard (Barb) Jedlicki of Milaca, Kenneth (Clara) Jedlicki of Morrill; son in law, Bob Happke of Pierz; sister, Lorraine Happke of Michigan; sister in law, Shirley Kurtz of Pierz, 25 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and 8 great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aloise; son, Aloise, Jr.; daughter, Shirley Happke; brother, Richard Kurtz; and sisters, Irene Hoheisel, Florence Eller, Frances Meyer, Viola Senatore, Regina Meyer, LaVerne Kurtz; granddaughter, Karla Scheel and great great grandson, Jacetin Campeau.
