Cleora Herold Piekarski

Cleora Herold Piekarski, age 74, of Brainerd, MN, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN, with Fr. Kenneth Popp officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the serviceat the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Cleora Theresa Meyer was born on January 10, 1942, in Genola, Minnesota the daughter of Michael and Mae (Meyer) Meyer. She grew up in Genola and graduated from Pierz High School. Following her marriage to Gerald Herold, the couple made their home in Center Valley, Minnesota and later divorced. Cleora continued living in Pierz where she worked various jobs and raised her three boys. On August 8, 1999, Cleora married Lawrence Piekarski. The couple lived in Garrison before moving to Brainerd. Cleora enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as trips to the casino. She was a very loving, caring person. For 40 years she attended St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz and most recently the Garrison Alliance Church in Garrison.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lawrence of Brainerd, MN; children, Russell Herold of Hilltop, MN, Todd Herold of Garrison, MN and Perry (Kathryn) Herold of East Bethel, MN; step-children, Shawn (Kim) Piekarski of Port Washington, WI, and Bryn Piekarski of Brainerd, MN; siblings, Mike N. (Carol) Meyer of Pierz, MN, and Jenny (Robert) Seppelt of Buckman, MN; grandchildren, Kyle Herold, Trent Herold and Kelsi Herold; step-grandchildren, Jessica Bursch, Amber Piekarski, Brittany Piekarski and Tyler Piekarski; great-grandchild, Arieana Herold and step-great-grandchildren, Landon Bursch, Kailey Piekarski and Kasen Piekarski.

Cleora was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Denise Herold (12/16/1962); step-daughter, Mary Winkel and siblings, Hildegard Meyer, Dorothy Logsdon and Catherine Boser
