Dorothy Hanfler, 92 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Thursday, April 23 at Highland Senior Living in Little Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating.Interment will be in St. Edwards Cemetery in Elmdale.

Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday two hours prior to the Mass.

Dorothy Celestine Kulla was born on April 14, 1923, in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the daughter of John & Ella Mary (Davis) Kulla.She grew up on a farm and attended school in Elmdale through the eighth grade.She worked as a nanny and helped raise her brothers and sisters.She was united in marriage to Frank Hanfler on June 22, 1943, at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Elmdale.The couple made their home on the family farm in Swan River Township where they raised their family.Dorothy enjoyed cooking, baking (especially making angel food cakes and coffee cakes), embroidering and making baby quilts, playing cards and entertaining family and friends. She especially enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was a long time member of St. Edwards Catholic Church and later joined Our Lady of Lourdes, the Daughters of Isabella, Rosary Sodality in Elmdale and the Christian Women.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joyce (Mark) Pietrowski of Little Falls, Carol (James) Wielinski of Little Falls, Phyllis (David) Dobis of Little Falls, Mary (Darryl Johnson) Hanfler of Little Falls, and Jerome (Gloria) Hanfler of Little Falls; siblings, Genevieve Grachek, LeRoy (Leona) Kulla, Howard (Sandy) Kulla, Ronald (Barbara) Kulla, William Kulla; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Hanfler (December 11, 1992); three great-grandchildren, Nathan and Heather Zak and Thomas Jaeger and siblings, Richard, Virgil, Alfred, Floyd Kulla and Bernadine Rude.
