Douglas Hanowski, age 79, of Little Falls, MN passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Lakewood Health Systems in Staples. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Fr. Mark Innocenti officiating. Burial will be at the parish Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral West Chapel in Little Falls. Christian Mothers will pray the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will also be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Thursday. Douglas was born on September 15, 1927 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Peter & Stella (Prozinski) Hanowski. He graduated from Little Falls High School in 1946. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948. Doug was united in marriage on July 25, 1953 to Dalorus Teiken and from this union they were blessed with eight children. He was employed with Northwestern Bell from 1951 until 1987. Douglas helped start the youth hockey program in Little Falls and coached for many years. After his retirement he took up golf. He spent his winters in Florida, New Mexico, Alaska and Australia. Doug was a long member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where he helped with bazaars and phone maintenance. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening and loved his grandchildren and family. Douglas is survived by his wife, Dalorus (Teiken) Hanowski of Little Falls; Children, Mary McDonald of Chanhassen; JoAnn Hanowski of Duluth; John (Julie) Hanowski of Little Falls; Patty (Steve) Young of Rome, NY; Paul (Dana) Hanowski of Swanville; Sue (Bill) Koppi of Minnetrista; Steve (Jen) Hanowski of Shakopee and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri; parents, Pete & Stella (Prozinski) Hanowski; sister, Dorothy; brothers, Pete & Ken and sister-in-law, Alys and son-in-law, Geno (Eugene) Marsolek. Casket Bearers will be Douglas' Grandchildren. Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN.
