Eleanor Mary Tillman

Eleanor M. Tillman, 95 year old resident of Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Sauk Rapids, MN passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 4 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Joseph Herzing officiating. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and from 9:30-10:30 am on Thursday at the funeral home. The Christian Mothers Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 followed by the Parish Prayers at 5:30 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Eleanor Mary (Copa) Tillman was born May 6, 1921 in Little Falls, MN to the late Vincent and Pauline (Ringwelski) Copa. She grew up and attended school in Little Falls, MN. Eleanor graduated with the class of 1939. Eleanor worked in a local dime store as a clerk in Brainerd, MN. Eleanor worked as a waitress in Little Falls, where she met her future husband. She was united in marriage to Stanley Tillman on June 23, 1947 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Little Falls. The couple made their home in Little Falls all of their married lives. Stanley died on November 16, 1996. She bartended at the West Side Bar, Little Falls American Legion Post #46 and the Little Falls VFW Post#1112. Eleanor cooked for 17 years at Our Lady Lourdes Schools in Little Falls. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Kaitlin, playing cards, cooking chicken on Sundays, going to the Legion Post #46 to play bingo, enjoying One drink with friends. Eleanor was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #46, Little Falls VFW Post #1112 and the Christian Mothers. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, quilting group and prayed the Rosary daily.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Jane (Michael) Shaw of St. Joseph, MN; granddaughters, Stephanie (Mel VanderPlaats) Shaw of St. Cloud, MN, Stacey (Patrick) Watrin of St. Cloud, MN; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Kaitlin Watrin of St. Cloud, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Pauline Copa; husband, Stanley; brothers, Louie, Alex, Frank, Harry, Martin, George Copa; sisters, Lucille Murray, Margaret Kessler, Cele Wilczek and Martha Karnowski.

The family would like to thank the following people for the loving care provided to Eleanor: The Staff of Brookdale and St. Croix Hospice.
