Elizabeth R. Betty Jelinski, 85 year old resident of Swan River Township, Morrison County died Saturday, June 16 at St. Ottos Care Center with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. The burial will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 20 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and from 9:30-10:30 A.M. on Thursday at the church in Sobieski. A parish prayer will be said at 3:15 followed by the Rosaryat the funeral home.
Elizabeth Rose Moe was born August 10, 1932 in Pope County, Barsness Township,Glenwood, Minnesota to the late Roy William and Rose Marie (Barriault) Moe. She attended District #9 country school. She graduated from Glenwood High School with the class of 1950. She moved to Little Falls and began working at the Old St. Gabriels Hospital. In 1954, she met and married Wilfred Jelinski on August 30, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood. The couple made their home in Swan River Township, Morrison County. Elizabeth worked at St. Ottos Nursing Home for several years. She also worked as a Food Demo lady for Cub Foods from the Brainerd/Baxter area out of Minneapolis for eight years. Betty covered the area from St. Cloud to northern Minnesota. Betty was an active league bowler at the Little Falls bowling lanes. She also loved gardening, reading, bird watching, fishing but most of all her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski where she was a Eucharistic Minister for 13 years. She was also a member of Rosary Society and St. Stanislaus Prayer Group.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 63 years, Wilfred Willie Jelinski of Little Falls; children, Debra Harakelof Little Falls; Jeff (Barb) Jelinski of Little Falls, Denise (Gary) Jelinski-Hall of Monument, CO, Bryan (Christie) of Baxter, Shawn (Marilyn) of Little Falls, Shannon (Tim) Hohler of St. Cloud; siblings, Arnold Moe of Glenwood, Gerald Moe of Glenwood, James Moe of OK, Sylvia Trafas of Little Falls; grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Brittany Harakel, Ashley Wolf, Nikki Roberts, Nathan Hall, Neili Lopez, Noah Hohler, Eric, Jason, David and Angela Jelinski; 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 12 year old brother, Richard and seven month old sister, Phyllis, sisters, Deloris Dosdall and Bonnie Smith.
