Gary Phelps passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was 60 years old.
Gary Phelps was a vivacious free spirit, passionate about his beliefs and full of theories about life. His positive attitude was unwavering. He met the many challenges of his life with a remarkable lightness. Gary had an express commitment to make at least one person smile every day he was alive. He took great pleasure in talking with others; those he loved dearly, as well as complete strangers. He was a loving father and grandfather who took great pride in being a positive force in the lives of this family. It was his aim to uplift everyone around him.
Gary was brimming over with a remarkable curiosity looking under the hood, peeking behind the curtain, zooming out to see the Big Picture. Exploring these curiosities was not only a favorite pastime, but an incredible talent. He had a unique way of seeing things and a creative, associative mind always tinkering, fixing, doctoring, rigging up, and piecing together. Finding the literal sense in all dimensions of material and immaterial existence was his true lifes work.
After an extended period of declining health, Gary passed into the great beyond, meeting his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Gary was 60 years old.
He is survived by his children,Jason Blum-Phelps (Jessica), Julie Phelps (Shamsher), Johanna Phelps, Joshua Phelps (Brittany)and Jasmine Phelps (Dustin); grandchildren, Dillan Blum, Maize Blum, Evie Phelpsand Isla Phelps; siblings, Richard, Linda, Deb, Becky, Jodiand Lori.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Phelps and his parents Thomas and Darlene Phelps.
