George E. Easter, 86-year-old resident of St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls, formerly of Royalton, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Ottos Care Center. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 1 at 1:00 PM at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service of Royalton with Pastor Greg Tomhave officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home.
George was born on September 8, 1930 in Delta, Colorado to John and Martha Easter. He served in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Pat Lindner on July 12, 1955 in Colorado. The couple lived in Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota. George worked as a ranch and farm hand. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, art poetry, barn dancing, yodeling singing, playing the guitar, knife throwing, donkey baseball, breaking horses, and was a hell of a mechanic. He was always trying to teach others the German language. George was a member of the Royalton American Legion Post #137. He was a proud veteran, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
George is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Pat Easter of Little Falls, MN; children, Wanettia (Ed) Neumann of Little Falls, MN, Wanye (Elaine) Easter of Stewertville, MN; grandchildren, Margie Haugen, Dallas (Eric) DeWitt, Amanda (Cory Schilling) Neumann, Joe Neumann; 9great-grandchildren; many nieces nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-dad; 3 great-grandchildren; and 11 siblings.
