Gerald H. Hennes

Gerald H. Hennes, age 58 of East Grand Forks, MN and formerly of Sobieski, MN passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2006 at his home in East Grand Forks. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN with Father Leo Moenkedick officiating. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, north of Little Falls, MN. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski. Gerald was born May 8, 1948, in Little Falls, Morrison County, MN to the late Herbin and Eleanor (Kotchvar) Hennes. As a young boy he grew up in Sobieski. Gerald attended school in Little Falls graduating with the Class of 1968. Following High School he attended St. Cloud Vo-Tech in the field of welding. He entered the United States Navy on April 21, 1969 at the US Naval Station in San Francisco, CA. He received an honorable discharge on March 9, 1974. Returning from the service, Gerald lived in the Minneapolis area working as a machinist. He moved to East Grand Forks, MN where he resided until his death. Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and was very active in the V.F.W. in East Grand Forks. Gerald is survived by a brother, Lambert Hennes & wife, Judith, of Little Falls, MN; sisters, Mary Kay Klang & husband, Bill, of Debary, FL, Barb Plukut of Milwaukee, WI and Carol Empey & husband, Bill, of Marcell, MN; many nieces & nephews.
