Gerald L. Susalski, age 68 of Little Falls/Belle Prairie Twsp, MN passed away Monday, October 22, 2007 at his home in Belle Prairie Township, Morrison County, MN. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 26, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM Thursday and Friday from 9:00-10:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (East Chapel) in Little Falls. Parish prayers will be said at 5:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral chapel. Gerald Louis Susalski was born March 9, 1939 in Little Falls, Morrison County, MN to the late Louis & Elmira (Smith) Susalski. He grew up in Little Falls where he attended and graduated from Little Falls High School with the Class of 1957. Following his graduation, Gerald worked as a painter and as a musician with Virg Litke and the Eldorados. He also worked at Crestliner Boats in Little Falls. Later, Gerald worked as lead investigator for the Morrison County Sheriff's Department under Sheriff Fred Pelzer. He also served as Sheriff of Morrison County from 1978-1982. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann McDuffee on June 27, 1971 in Brainerd, MN. Following their marriage, Gerald and Mary Ann lived in Little Falls later moving to their home in Belle Prairie Township where he resided until his death. He enjoyed music, playing many different instruments especially the guitar, hunting, fishing and playing cards. Gerald especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren when they would come over on the weekend. Gerald is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; son, Garett Susalski & wife, Ann, of San Diego, CA; daughter, Rachel Strom & husband, Gary, of Little Falls, MN; sisters, Maureen Stumpf & husband, Henry, of Little Falls, MN, Margaret Welch & husband, Denny, of Garrison, MN, Lois Pauly of Little Falls, MN, Nancy U'Ren & husband, David, of Oregon and Denise Luberts & husband, Greg, of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Marcus, Angela & Quinn Wyant, Gavin & Dempsey Susalski; step-grandchildren, Jenny Olson, Katie, Donny, Christopher, Todd & Carrie Strom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis & Elmira Susalski; grandparents, Ignatz & Alice Susalski and Tony & Marcelene Smith. Casketbearers are Jason McDuffee, Ryan McDuffee, Jason Pauly, John Pauly, Donny Stumpf, Pat Stumpf, Donny Strom & Mike Stumpf.
