Gertrude Przybilla, age 95 of Pierz, MN passed away Sunday, December 31, 2006 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with the Rev. Gerald Dalseth officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00-10:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz. Christian Women will pray a Rosary at 4:30 P.M. Tuesday afternoon at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, followed by parish prayers at 7:00 P.M. Gertrude was born on June 19, 1911 in Pierz, MN to Henry and Mary (Tretter) Virnig. Gertrude taught country school in Pierz for ten years. She was united in marriage on October 24, 1940 to Louis Przybilla at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. They farmed in Buh Township all of their lives. Gertrude was a great caregiver, she loved playing cards, picking berries, baking breads, gardening and especially her flowers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Gertrude was well know for making her homemade banana filled birthday cakes for each of her loved ones. She never missed a birthday. She was a member of St. Joseph's catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. Gertrude is survived by her son, Terry (Jessie) Przybilla of Pierz, MN; daughters, Karina (Louie) Patnaude of Fort Ripley, MN; Mary Lou (Virgil) Hoheisel of Hillman, MN; Renee (Maynard) Mitchell of Pierz, MN; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Louis in 1977; her parents, one brother and six sisters.
