Glenn Alvin Christen

Glenn Christen, 60 year old resident of Little Falls, passed away on August 1st, 2026, at his home. A committal service will take place at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.

Glenn Alvin Christen was born on December 14th, 1965, to parents Valeria (Cigelske) and Jerome Christen in St. Cloud. He attended Albany High School, graduated in 1984, and joined the Army shortly after graduation. Glenn would serve his country for three years as a wheeled vehicle mechanic, working on tanks and other military vehicles. He transitioned from active duty to the National Guard in 1987. He continued his military career with the training center support unit, where he managed the shooting range at Camp Ripley. After retiring from the military, Glenn worked various jobs involving shipping and receiving.

In his free time, Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, gardening, cooking, and canning. While raising his children, he often took them fishing or shooting. An excellent marksman, Glenn taught his children how to safely handle and shoot firearms. In his younger years, he also enjoyed playing softball and throwing darts. Glenn was always willing to lend a hand to a friend in need, often helping with home improvement projects. He had a wide network of friends and always seemed to “know a guy” he could call on for help.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Alex (Sheryl) Christen of Clear Lake, Emily (Travis) Melby of Foreston, and Molly Christen of Sartell; siblings, Darla (Bob) Hommerding of Paynesville, Keith (Melissa) Christen of Albany, and Bruce (Joyce) Christen of Albany; friends, Matt “Matty” “Woodtick” (Katie) Smith of Fort Ripley and Mike “Mikey” (Judy) Hart of Duluth; and 6 grandchildren.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Valeria and Jerome Christen; sons, Derek Christen and Jake Christen.
