Hilda Drews

Hilda Drews, 95 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, formerly of Swanville, MN, died Wednesday, November 11 at the Little Falls Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21 at 2:00 P.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN with Rev. Kevin Zellers officiating. A visitation will be held from to 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Hilda was born October 19, 1920 in Culdrum Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Herman and Anna (Unger) Vanselow. She attended District #60 Country School. She enjoyed time with friends going to dances. She met Richard Drews her future husband at one of the dances. The couple was united in marriage on August 3, 1940 in Culdrum Township. They farmed in Culdrum Township, Morrison County for 55 years. Hilda worked at St. Ottos Care Center in the dietary department for 17 years. Hilda retired in 1985. Even after she lost her hearing she enjoyed playing cards especially bingo. Hilda was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Swanville, MN, her entire life.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Valerie Bleeker of Little Falls, MN; grandson, Gregg (Brenda) of Pierz, MN; granddaughter, Vanessa (Paul) Tykwinski of Little Falls, MN; great-grandchildren, Adam, Ian, Taylor, Chandler and Lexie Bleeker, Nicole and Jett Schaffer; great-great granddaughter, Aubree Schaffer and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Anna Vanselow; husband, Richard Drews; son-in-law, Rodney Bleeker; five sisters; one brother and one half-brother.

Hildas great-grandchildren will be serving as her honorary pallbearers.
