Joseph Stavish

Joseph Stavish 85-year-old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, November2, 2016 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls with Father Joseph Herzing officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-7 PMTuesday, November 1 at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery in Flensburg, MN.

Joseph Stavish was born on January 15, 1931, in Culdrum Township to Joseph Stavish Sr. and Anna (Vnuk) Stavish. He grew up on the family farm. Joseph attended District #31 through the eighth grade. He then farmed with his father for nine years and returned to school to complete his GED. Joseph was united in marriage to Lois Karpinski on October 11, 1958 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN. He worked building homesand then as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal service until his retirement in 1990. Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, lawn care, and restoring John Deere Tractors with his grandson, Garrett. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1804, Twin Cylinder Club, Snow Dogs Snowmobile Club, Belle Prairie Fire Department, Morrison County Recreational Trails Association, Gold Wing Motorcycle Club, and treasurer of Little Falls Township.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Lois Stavish of Little Falls, MN; daughters, Colleen (Robert) Doucette of Little Falls, MN, Barb Stavish of Little Falls, MN; grandson, Garrett (Marybeth) Doucette of Upsala, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Evan Doucette; sisters, Bernadine Thesing and Virginia Wippler
