Josephine Larson, 95 year old,of Sobieski passed away Saturday, August 17 at Arlington Place in St. Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski with Father Tim Wenzel officiating. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery.The visitation will be held on Friday, August 23 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls andon Saturday at the church in Sobieskifrom 10:00-11:00 A.M.A Rosarywill be said at 4:30 P.M. followed by parish prayers at 5:00 P.M. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

Josephine Marie Kalis was born on March 19, 1924 in Royalton to the late Isadore and Emily (Jarosh) Kalis. She wasunited in marriage to Elmer Larson on September 8, 1947 in Royalton MN. She lived inMinneapolis where she worked forMinneapolis Knitting until she had children.The family moved to the farm in Sobieski in 1963. Josephine was a loving homemaker raising the couples ten children andhelping with the day to day operations of the farm.She enjoyed gardening, babysitting, music, dancing, and spending time with family She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski.She taught religion,was anactive member oftheRosary Society,St. Annes Mission Circle andthe Third Order of Secular Franciscans. God, Faith, and Family werethe focus of her life.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Audrey (John) Arnold of Ava, IL, Gary (Theresa) Larson of Elmdale, Eugene Larson of Sobieski, Barb (Kevin) Dyer of Little Falls, Sally (Jim) Waltman of Swanville, Lori (Mike) Scholz of Bowlus, Joyce Larson of Oakdale and Joan (Steve) Brausen of Avon; sisters, MaryAnn Cegla of Moorhead, Dolores (Loren) Popp of Rice; 29 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two on the way.

She was preceded in death by husband Elmer, who passed away on May 24, 1978,her parents, Isadore and Emily, daughters, Marie Wolters and Janet Lashinski,grandson, Edward Larson, Brothers, James and Alois Kalis and sister, Bernadine Burggraff.
