Julia Catherine Langer

Julia Catherine Langer, 91 year-old-resident of Woodbury, MN; formerly of Pierz, MN; passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Thursday, June 1 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz on Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the service at the church. A Christian Mothers Rosary will be prayed at 11 AM prior to Mass at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Julia Willenbring was born on April 17, 1926 in Richmond, MN to Charles and Ann Willenbring. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1944 and from Nurses Training at the St. Cloud Hospital in 1947. Julia was united in marriage to Elmer Langer on January 17, 1947. She worked as a nurse at Dr. Steins office in Pierz for several years, followed by staying home to raise her seven children. She enjoyed playing Bridge, coffee parties, pontoon rides at the lake, baking cooking, taking pictures of her family, and most of all spending time with her children grandchildren. Julia was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

Julia is survived by her children, Chuck (Shelly) Langer, Jane Langer, Bob (Annie) Langer, Mike (Karen) Langer, Kay Langer Sikich, and Kristin (Blair) Brumley; son-in-law, Vern Hoppe; 16 grandchildren, Brad (Sheila) Langer, Jennifer (Chris) Draheim, Melissa Hoppe, Michael Hoppe, Michelle (Bryan) Foss, Tom Langer, Melissa (Andrew) Eschenbacher, David Gurewitz, Robbie Sikich, Scottie Sikich, Megan Langer, Billy Langer, Blake Brumley, Katie Brumley, Brock Brumley, Kennedi Brumley; 6 Great-Grandchildren, Irelandrose Langer, Liam Langer, Charley Draheim, Max Draheim, Bo Draheim, Bella Foss; siblings, Fr. Mark Willenbring, Theodore (Donna) Willenbring, and Sr. Joyce Willenbring.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, June Hoppe; siblings, Mary Ann Stein, and Gordon Willenbring.
