Laura Helen Maslowski Lodermeier 55 year old resident of Little Falls died Friday, January 19 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 25 at 11:00 A.M. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls with Chaplain Gregg Valentine officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24 from 4-8 PM and from 10-11 AM on Thursday all visitation time will be held at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls.
Laura Helen Maslowski Lodermeier was born on Easter Sunday, April 22, 1962 at 4:45 P.M. in Little Falls, Minnesota to Richard and Lee Ann (Countryman) Maslowski. She attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School and District #1183 Country School in Sobieski, Lincoln Elementary, Little Falls Community Middle School, and Little Falls Community High School, graduating with Cum Laude honors in 1980. She also earned diplomas in pasture management, floral design and gardening and landscaping. On December 8, 1981, she was united in marriage to Jerry Earl Lodermeier in Little Falls, Minnesota. The couple resided on their Misty Acres Hobby Farm in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota, where they raised their eight children; Kathryn, Christina, Jolene, Daniel, Michael, Sheila, Aaron, and Luke. Laura had many jobs in her lifetime, including working on the family farm, selling eggs to Trettel Produce in Little Falls, selling baby pigs at the Little Falls Pig Market, babysitting, housekeeping at Christus Group Home in Little Falls, running pony rides, making pickled eggs and gizzards for Herbies Bar in Sobieski, working at Swanville Locker, Gorka Catering and Little Falls Greenhouse, making pickled eggs for the Polish Palace in Sobieski, working at Sobieski Co-op Creamery and becoming the first recycling manager at Swan River Township. She also did volunteer work including Adopt- A-Highway, where she picked up garbage with the Michael Lody Lodermeier crew, raising pheasants for the Sobieski Sportsmans Club, helping out with Sobieski Polish Day, working in the concession stands for Sobieski Skis Baseball and Sobieski Little Six Baseball teams, getting donations for the Little Falls Flyers Wrestling Booster Club, and helping with the Michael Lody Lodermeier Memorial Softball Tournament. But her most important job was being mom, wife, and homemaker. Her hobbies included collecting antiques, old money, stamps, music, movies, books, growing and arranging flowers, crocheting baby blankets, singing and being an animal lover. She was a member of the Lindbergh Celebration Singers, Little Falls Athletic Boosters, National Home Gardening Club Life Member, Arbor Day Foundation, Minnesota Concerned Citizens For Life, National Rifle Association Life Member, Friends of The Pine Grove Zoo and the U. S. O. (United Service Organizations). Laura was proud of being part owner of their Misty Acres Hobby Farm, which has been in their family since 1880.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lodermeier; baby and grandbaby Lodermeier; father, Richard Duke Maslowski; father-in-law, Melvin Mick Lodermeier; godparents, Donald Maslowski and Darlene Smieja; grandparents, Michael and Helen (Pekula) Maslowski, Charles and Erma Jean (Borman) Countryman; nieces, Kayla Lodermeier-Maleski, Amber LeBlanc; Sister-in-law, Lori Maslowski; and brother-in-law, James Lodermeier.
