LaVerne "June" Magle

LaVerne June Magle, age 79, of Pierz, MN, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Harmony House of Pierz.

A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday on May 27, 2016.

LaVerne June Rynning was born on May 27, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of Alf Ethel Mae (Trudell) Rynning. She graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee with the Class of 1953. June was united in marriage to Alburton J. Gray on October 24, 1953. The couple moved to Pierz on August 29, 1969, and farmed in Granite Township until 1981, when they purchased Buh Oil. The business was closed upon Als sudden death of a heart attack on June 20, 1982. June then married Marvin J. Magle on December 17, 1983, and farmed with him in Sturgeon Bay, WI, until his retirement in June of 1998, when they moved back to the Pierz area. June enjoyed working at Ken and Jans Red Owl and Super Value and later, at the Morrison County Record. She was a member of Faith Community Church for many years and served on the church board. She also volunteered at the Villa, Harmony House and Senior Center all in Pierz. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and playing cards, but her absolute joy in life was her family and spending time with them.

Grateful for having shared her life are her four children, Catherine (Brad) Tieva of Annandale, MN, Laurie (Randy) Tax of Pierz, MN, Rick (Lori) Gray of Sartell, MN and Carrie (John) Gruber of Pierz, MN; three stepsons, Gordon (Ruby) Magle, Paul (Dorothy) Magle and Allan (Linda) Magle all of Sturgeon Bay, WI; sister, Marlene Ward of Paragould, AR; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Al Gray and Marvin Magle; brothers, Alfred Rynning and Walter Rynning and sister, Gloria Glisch.

A special thanks to Dr. Kelli Leland and her amazing second family the Harmony House Staff and the Horizon Home and Health Hospice Team for giving her peace, dignity, and comfort during her final months with all of us.
