Leonard "Larry" Mitberg

August 9, 1938 — July 17, 2016

Leonard Larry Mitberg, 77 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Sunday, July 17 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The burial will be held at St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in Audobon, MN.

Larry was born on August 9, 1938 in Minot, North Dakota. He graduated from Northome High School in 1956. He obtained a B.A from the University of Minnesota in 1960, a B.S. from Bemidji State in 1967, and a MS from the University of St. Thomas in 1995. He proudly served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963 as a Specialist, 4th Class.

Larry Worked as a Socials Studies Teacher for 31 years in Fergus Falls, Minnesota where he was also a public speaking coach for 8 years. He was a member of Kiwanis International in Ottertail County, Morrison County Senior Center, Augustana Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls, MN, Fergus Falls Educational Association, and was a life member of American Legion #30 Fergus Falls, MN. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, hunting, fishing, playing cribbage, trivial pursuit and volunteering with Boy Scouts, Kinship.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Alvina, children, William (Trisha) Mitberg of Beaverton, Oregon, Kristina (Bruce Waytashek) Mitberg of Little Falls, Minnesota, 3 grandchildren, Gregory Mitberg, Sandrey Mitberg and Elliott Mitberg; sister, Coralie (Michael) Sathre of Plano, Texas.

The Honorary Casket Bearers will be the Little Falls Kiwanis and Little Falls Senior Center Friends.
