Louise was born on January 6, 1939 in South Harbor Township, Mille Lacs County, Minnesota to the late John and Katherine (Kertzman) Vander Heyden. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Onamia High School with the Class of 1957. Upon graduation, Louise went to work at West Publishing in St. Paul where she worked in the mailing department until 1962. She was united in marriage to Ervin Billmeyer on September 15, 1962 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Onamia, Minnesota. The couple made their home near Buckman, MN where they farmed and raised their seven children (Connie, Bonnie, Joan, Doug, Bruce, Brian and Becky). She enjoyed life on the farm, always setting an example of a strong work ethic. In 2001, Louise and Ervin retired from the farm and moved to a five acre parcel of their farm. Louise enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers, mowing the lawn, playing cards, embroidery, doing word search puzzles, reading Amish fiction books, and putting jigsaw puzzles together. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and loved being outdoors. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael's Christian Women, and Catholic United Financial.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 63 years, Ervin; children, Connie (Dick) Kieffer of Morrill, Bonnie Williams of St. Cloud, Joan (Fred) Fleck of Rice, Bruce Billmeyer of Royalton, Brian (Amy) Billmeyer of Pierz and Becky (Dale) Rothanburg of Foley; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Genevieve Czech, Delores Pick, Clarice Marshik and Jim Vander Heyden; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katherine Vander Heyden; son, Doug Billmeyer; infant brother, Alfred Vander Heyden; sisters, Anna Simon, Frances Mahal, Margaret Konkol, Irene Jacobson, Lorraine Mischke and a brother, John Vander Heyden; sisters-in-law, Daisy, Karen and Jeanne Vander Heyden; brothers-in-law, David Pick, Frank Simon, George Mahal, Howard Konkol, Earl Jacobson, Celestine Mischke, Clarence Czech, and Ervin Marshik.
