Marie T. Pohlkamp, age 93, resident of Buckman passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Buckman. Father Kenneth Popp will officiate and burial will be held in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00- 8:00 PM, Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Michaels Catholic Church and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Marie Pohlkamp was born in Pierz Township, Minnesota, on March 4, 1925, to Frank and Frances (Kruschek) Stangl. She was united in marriage to Lambert Pohlkamp on September 1, 1948. Her Catholic faith was of utmost importance in her daily life. She was a member of the Christian Mothers for over 60 years and a member of the St. Michaels choir for many years. She treasured her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. She was kind, compassionate, patient and giving of her time to others, particularly children, and babysat many neighborhood children. She enjoyed life on the farm, always setting an example of a strong work ethic. She always made people feel welcome with her kindness and generosity. She enjoyed gardening, loved flowers, liked to read and watch birds. She looked forward to her childrens frequent phone calls, texts, emails, and visits as much as they enjoyed visiting or hearing from her. She was an avid sports fan particularly of Pierz Pioneer football, Minnesota Vikings, and the Minnesota Twins.
Survivors include her children: Bridget Marquez of Maple Grove, Meiny, Buckman; Terry (Mary Jo), Scandia; Leo, Buckman; Jean Lizardi (Victor), Mililani, Hawaii; Margery Wolf (Mike), Champlin; Nick (Jackie), Sauk Centre; Lillian (Jim Wafler), Pierz; Carol From (Mike), St. Cloud; Cheryl, St. Cloud; Bill (Kelly), Buckman; Joe (Mary), Baxter; Michelle Nephew (Scott), Lakeville; and Paula, White Bear Lake, and brother, Clarence (Judy), Spring Park. Grandchildren include: Stacie Mitchell and Shawn Marquez, Jonathan and Mitchell Pohlkamp; Kelly and Krista Lizardi; Stephanie Toomey; Breanna and Brandon From; Zachary and Alexandra Pohlkamp; Matthew, Christopher, Sarah, Abby, Eric and Molly Pohlkamp; Noah and Hannah Nephew. Great grandchildren include: Caden and Madalyn Pohlkamp; Eleanor and Josephine Toomey; Malia Mitchell.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Lambert; daughter, Colette; parents, Frank and Frances Stangl; siblings, Margaret Athman, Elaine Kummet, Evelyn Dehler, Richard, Herman, Father Alfred, and Alvin Stangl.
