Marjorie Held, 72 year old resident of Pierz, Granite Township, Minnesota died Thursday, May 7 at her home with her family by her side. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 12 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ritas Catholic Church in Hillman, MN with Fr. Greg Poser, OSC officiating. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M until the hour of the service on Tuesday all at the church.
Marjorie Mathilda Tomala was born December 15, 1942 in Little Falls, Morrison County, Minnesota to Joe and Gertrude (Boser) Tomala.She grew up in Granite Township and attended Father Pierz Memorial School where she graduated with the class 1960.She was united in marriage to Richard Held on February 15, 1963 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. The couple made their home in Minneapolis, MN for seven years.The couple returned to Morrison County and resided in Leigh Township for ten years.They moved to their current home in Granite Township in 1980.Marjorie worked for Noble Wear in Onamia, MN for a few years.She then worked for Larson Boats in Little Falls for 14 years in the upholstery department. Marjorie enjoyed reading, bird watching, fishing, cutting the lawn and spending time with her family and friends.She attended St. Ritas Catholic Church and was a member of the Christian Mothers.
She will lovingly be remembered by her husband of 52 years, Richard Held of Pierz, MN;children, John Held of Minneapolis, MN, Richard Held, Jr. of Lastrup, MN, Lori (John) Krebs of Sobieski, MN and Sharon (Steve) Millner of Pierz, MN; siblings, Zeno Tomala of Cambridge, MN and Marvin Tomala of Fridley, MN; grandchildren, Pat Krebs, Angie Krebs, Paul Krebs, Ashley Millner, Tyler Millner, Stephanie Eller, Kaitlan Held, Macaela Held, Hunter Held, Myah Held, Bailey Held and Bradon Held and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Gertrude Tomala; son, Joseph Held,; daughter, Mary Held and her sister, Maryann Elbes.
