Mary Louise Boser was born on January 11, 1943, in Little Falls to the late Leo Joseph and Louise Mildred (Bruber) Zak. She grew up in the Hillman area with her sister, Midge, by her side, where her parents owned and operated the Thoroughfare Resort on Platte Lake. Mary attended and graduated from Onamia High School with the class of 1961. She met the love her life, Ronald Leo Boser, and the couple was united in marriage on October 6, 1962, at Holy Family Catholic Church Bull Dog Lake. Throughout her life, Mary worked as a part-time clerk, house cleaner, home maker, and caring and loving mother. The couple made their home in Brainerd and then Hillman, and enjoyed spending the winter months in Texas during their retirement. After Ron passed away in 2015, Mary lived in the LakeSong assisted living apartments in Onamia. Throughout her life she enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing cards, singing, dancing, playing bingo, selling raffle tickets, riding in antique cars, and watching the Vikings, Twins, Wild, Timberwolves, and Gophers. She was a proud member of Richardson Lakes Area Lions, Hillman Legion Auxiliary Post #602, St. Elizabeth Council, and Holy Family Catholic Church Bull Dog Lake. Although Mary was small in stature, she had a big heart and a big personality. She will be remembered and loved by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Doug (Anne) Boser of Andover; grandchildren, Aaron (Becca Tuttle) Boser, Andrew (Breahna Sherman) Boser, Alex (Leigh Freyholtz) Boser, Devin (Jenna Brolin) Nagel and Ethan (Rachel Kniss) Nagel; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Kay Boser, Stevie Breanne Boser, Everett Arnold Nagel and Vivian Mae Nagel; sister, Midge (Bob) Baniecke of Hillman and many more loving relatives and friends.
