Peter L. Kronbeck

Peter L. Kronbeck, age 76 of Little Falls, MN passed away in the loving arms of our sweet Lord, Friday, October 12, 2007 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial and a celebration of Peter's life will be held Wednesday, October 17h, at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8PM Tuesday and Wednesday from 9-11AM at the Emblom- Brenny Funeral Service (East Chapel) in Little Falls. Parish Prayers will be said at 5:30 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral chapel. Peter L. Kronbeck was born May 15, 1931 in Freedhem, Morrison County, MN to the late Andrew & Genevieve (Jenkins) Kronbeck. His family later moved to Little Falls where he attended Little Falls Schools through the tenth grade. Peter received his GED in 1983. Peter attended Vocational School studying blue print reading and welding. He was united in marriage to Jeanne D. Mitchell on September 23, 1950 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. The couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on September 23, 2007. Following their marriage, Peter & Jeanne lived in Little Falls where he resided until his death. As a teenager, Peter worked at the R.D. Musser Estate and at Bares Hardware. He also worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad and for 32 years at Hennepin Paper Company in Little Falls as a maintenance supervisor. Peter was a devoted wood worker which found him building the couple's home including the plumbing, wiring, heating and all the built-ins in every room. His friends often saw him playing the slots at the casinos and flirting with the waitresses at Perkins where he had his coffee each morning. Peter's love of travel kept the couple on the road every summer taking them to almost every state plus Canada and Mexico. Peter and Jeanne also spent several winters down South. He was an 18 year member of the Good Sam Lucky Lindys and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls. Peter is survived by his wife, Jeanne; sons, Kevin Kronbeck & wife, Karen, of Brainerd, MN, Gary Kronbeck of Little Falls, MN; brother, Patrick Kronbeck & wife, Beverly, of Little Falls, MN; sister, Dorothy Helmen & husband, David, of Jefferson, WI; grandchildren, Nikki, Kelsey & Brittany Kronbeck and a great-grandchild, Teagan Kronbeck. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bernice Nelson, Betty Witucki & Lorretta Witucki and a brother, Pace Kronbeck. Though Peter suffered many years from COPD and lung cancer, it was a gallant fight to the end. In lieu of flowers family requests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, due to Peter's many years of fighting the ravages of diabetes, which affected his whole family. Casketbearers are Winnie Witucki, Anne Marie Hanson, Stacy Kronbeck, Patrick Kronbeck, Jr, Duane Witucki & Tim Witucki.
