Peter L. Zwak Peter Leo Zwak, age 83 of Royalton, MN passed away Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the County Manor Care Center in Sartell, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN with Father Laurn Virnig, officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and Tuesday from 8:00-10:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN. Royalton Legion Service will be at 6:00 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:30 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral chapel. Peter Leo Zwak was born January 31, 1923 in Royalton, MN to the late Daniel W. & Bridget J. (Kroll) Zwak. He grew up in Belleview Township, Morrison County, MN. He attended school in District #109 in the rural Royalton area. Following his schooling, Peter worked on the family farm. He then worked on the Great Lakes in shipping and with the Merchant Marines for 18 months during WWII. He entered the United States Army and was on active duty for 18 months and then with the Army Reserve. During the Korean War, Peter served again for 18 months receiving and honorable discharge. Returning from the service, Peter worked for the Coast to Coast Hardware Corporation as a forklift operator in Minneapolis until 1977. He then farmed with his brother retiring in 1991. Following his retirement he sold the farm, but continued to live on the farm in Belleview Township. In 2001, he became a resident of the Country Manor Care Center in Sartell, MN where he resided until his death. He enjoyed playing golf, teaching & playing the accordion, playing cards and loved going to the Casino. Peter is survived by a brother, John Zwak & wife, Gen, of Richfield, MN; sisters, Theresa Blommer & husband, John, of St. Joseph, MN and Dorothy Korman & husband, Ken, of St. Cloud, MN; sisters-in-law, Valeria Zwak of Minneapolis, MN, Marilyn Zwack of Brooklyn Center, MN, Rita Zwak of Maplewood, MN and Ann Zwack of St. Louis Park, MN. He was preceded in death by brothers & sisters, Ted Zwak, Vincent Zwack & wife, Catherine, Clara Zwack, Clarence Zwack, Lawrence Zwak, Amborse Zwack & wife, Lucille, Joseph Zwack, Victoria Zwack, Mary Ann Musielewicz & husband, Stan, Richard Zwack, Francis Zwack and Edward Zwack. Casketbearers will be Peter's nieces and nephews. Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Royalton, MN.
