Raymond S. Maciej, 85 year old resident Swanville, MN died Monday, September 3, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 6 at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN with Rev. Raymond Donnay officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Wednesday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Home West Chapel. And from 9-10 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Parish prayers will be said at 6:30 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Raymond was born November 29, 1921 in Swanville, MN to the late Peter and Mary (Bieniek) Maciej. He was raised in Swanville Township, Morrison County, Minnesota where he farmed and lived his entire life. He enjoyed the company of many friends and neighbors with whom he loved playing cards and telling stories of past experiences. Ray had a gift of always finding humor in every situation. When not tending to his livestock and crops, Ray enjoyed attending auctions. Raymond is survived by his nephew Richard Plakut of Swanville, MN; nieces, Kathleen Plakut of Minneapolis, MN, JoAnn Plakut Abodeely and husband, Fred of Salem, MA; great-nephews, Mark and Michael Abodeely of Salem, MA. Casketbearers will be: Fred Waltmann, Steve Primus, Pat Primus, David Bartkowitz, Gerlad Czech and John Czech. Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Servivce West Chapel. 1-320-632-4393.
