Rita Kruschek

Rita Kruschek, 82-year-old resident of Hillman, MN died Saturday, August 3 at the Harmony House in Pierz, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ritas Catholic Church in Hillman. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9 at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service on Saturdayat the church in Hillman. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery.

Rita Ann Magdziars was born on March 7, 1937 in Little Falls to the late John Helen Magdziars. She grew up in Sobieski, MN and attended school in Little Falls graduating with the class of 1955. Rita lived for a short time in the Twin Cities where she worked for Prudential Insurance and General Mills. She was united in marriage to Bud Kruschek on September 8, 1956 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN. The couple made their home in rural Hillman, MN. Rita was a home maker raising the couples five children was a big part of the familys dairy farm. She will be remembered for her wit, being an amazing woman making her house a home. Some of her many hobbies included gardening canning, sewing quilting, snowmobiling, fishing, making maple syrup, picking wild rice deer hunting. She also enjoyed adventures in the motor home taking many trips to see family friends with one of her most memorable being the trips to Nome, AK. She was active with St. Ritas Catholic Church in Hillman and helping with the church bazaars.



Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bud Kruschek of Hillman, MN; children, Mimi Kruschek of Little Falls, MN, Julie (Leo) Nilges of Kincaid, KS, Jason (Kim) Kruschek of Hillman, MN, Amy (Darrel) Saehr of Pierz, MN; daughter-in-law, Cheri Kruschek of Nome, AK; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Grace (Virgil) Kapsner of Redwood Falls, MN, and many relatives and friends.



She was preceded in death by her parents, John Helen Magdziars; son, Greg Kruschek in 2011 and a sister, Mary Kruzel.



The casket bearers will be Sara Jurek, Gina Kruschek, Holly Saehr, Randy Saehr, Katie Antill and Mike Boser.



In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Ritas Catholic Church Hillman, MN or St. Croix Hospice.
