Robert Gerald Tusler

Robert Tusler 75 year old resident of Hot Springs Village, AR died August 26 in Hot Springs, AR. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22 at 10:30 AM at the Camp Ripley Chapel inside the main gates with Chaplain Gregg Valentine officiating. The burial will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10-10:30 AM on Friday at the Camp Ripley Chapel inside the main gate.

Robert Gerald Tusler was born June 9, 1942 in Brainerd, MN to the late Hugh and Geraldine (Bell) Tusler. He graduated from Brainerd High School. In 1964, He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth on a football scholarship and received a Bachelors of Arts Degree. He raised his family in Duluth, MN. Robert served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He spent part of his career in hospital finance at Miller Dwan Medical Center in Duluth for 17 years. Robert was united in marriage to Jean on December 31, 1989 in Georgia. Robert and Jean followed his career around the Southern US. He served as chief financial officer at many different hospitals and locations until his retirement. He lived in Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Arkansas. He enjoyed the game of golf and he had a hole in one to show for his efforts at his home course Desoto Golf Club in Hot Springs Village, AR. Robert loved the challenge of crosswords and enjoyed reading all the books Jean would find him. He was a longtime member of the Elks and Toastmasters. Robert treasured his time with Jean and the time spent with family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jean Tusler of Hot Springs Village, AR; children, Mark (Melanie) Tusler of Hanover, MN, Julie (Randy) Toland of Proctor, MN; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Geraldine; brother, Larry Tusler and a sister, Pamela Tusler.
