Rupert S. Manka, age 58, of rural Bowlus, MN, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at his home. A public visitation will be held from 1:00 a" 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (East Chapel) Little Falls, MN. The Funeral Service will be PRIVATE. Rupert was born April 15, 1949 to Helen (Kurtz) and Rupert Manka and raised in Holdingford. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and then worked in the electrical trade for 33 years as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline, founded Lora B's with his wife Beatrice and owned the Blue Port on Lake Alexander. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved any project outdoors. He is survived by his wife Beatrice, son Joram and wife Maria, son Louis, daughter Kayla, sisters Mary and Cathy, brother Frank, step-siblings Agnes, John, Anthony, and Doris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Rupert, and his step-sister Eve.
