Sandra "Sandie" Brandle-Resch

Sandra Joyce Brandle-Resch, 71 year old resident of Royalton, died at her home on Sunday, September 13. A Celebration of Sandra's life will be held on Saturday, September 19 at 1:00 P.M. at Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church in Rice with Rev. Tim Schiller officiating. Visitation will be two hours before, starting at 11:00 A.M. The burial will be held at a later date in Willow River, MN.

Sandra Joyce Brandle was born on June 20, 1955 Duluth, MN to the late Joseph and Emily (Smetak) Brandle. Growing up on the family dairy farm near Willow River, she developed an early and lifelong love of animals. Sandie attended Willow River Schools, and served for a time as the school mascot. She graduated in 1973, and wanting to see the wider world, she moved to the Twin Cities and worked at Honeywell. But the call of the farm life was strong and after a year, she returned home to resume working the farm with her parents. She was always very proud of the production and health of her herd. She also worked off the farm at the generator plant in Sandstone, MN, at General Andrews Nursery in Willow River, and MN DOT on a seasonal road crew. She owned and operated the Strout Realty office in Moose Lake. Eventually she left the farm to attend Staples Vo Tech, and earned a certificate in Typesetting. Sandie landed a job with Rengel Printing in St. Cloud, where she worked for several years. An opportunity arose at Woodcraft Industries, and she then became a wood worker, rising to the lead position as a panel sander. It was during this stage of life that she met her future husband, Bruce. They were married on July 7, 1997 at Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church in Rice, MN. They made their home in Rice before moving to Royalton in 1998, where they lived until Sandie's death.

Sandie was passionate about three things, Faith, Family and Farming, in that order. Her Love of Jesus was apparent in all she said and did. While not perfect, she knew she was redeemed by the Blood of her Savior. She loved her family with an undying passion. While she never had children of her own, she adored the "Grands" the kids of her nieces and nephews, Dexter, Henry, Caleb, Lenora, Brooke and most recently Evie and Lucy. Sandie could go on for hours about her animals, both past and present. Whether livestock, or dogs and cats they were all her pets, and she loved them dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Emily; beloved auntie Bess ,sister Judi Brandle, and brother-in-law, Paul Bona.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bruce; sister, Barb Bona; nephews, Ben (Jen) Andy (Amber) and Tim (Grace); several great-nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Mariel Resch; brother and sisters-in-law, Bill Resch, Janel Eckart, Joni (Mark) Britton and many, many extended relatives and friends.
