Victor Krueger, age 79, of Royalton, MN, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral is 11 A.M. on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Royalton, MN. Interment with military honors by the Royalton American Legion Post #137 is in Riverside Cemetery in Royalton. Visitation is 4 to 8 P.M. Sunday, Sept. 2nd at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, Royalton, MN, with a prayer service at 7 P.M. Visitation continues at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service. Victor K. Krueger was born February 3, 1928 to Henry & Bertha (Skuza) Krueger in Sauk Rapids, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids, MN and was an eighth grade graduate of Trinity Lutheran School in Sauk Rapids, MN. At the age of 14, Victor went to work for local farmers as a hired man and in 1950, at the age 22, he joined the U.S. Army. He served in Korea as a diesel engineer/mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1952 as a sergeant. After his return, he married Ella Mae Hovland on September 15, 1952 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Royalton, MN. Victor worked for the Whirlpool Corporation in St. Paul from 1946-1961 as a shear operator. During this time he also worked part-time welding arrowheads. In 1961, he and his family moved to Royalton where he bought a farm. From 1961-1975, he owned and operated Krueger's Standard Service in Royalton, MN. In 1975, he and Ella Mae decided to become dairy farmers along with their crop farming. They did this until their retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Royalton American Legion Post #137. Victor's greatest love was his family. He shared with them his many interests including woodworking, playing cards, gardening, bird watching and traveling. His loving wife of 54 years, Ella Mae of Royalton, MN survives him. He was blessed with four children who mourn his departure; Sherry (Mike) Duevel, Cindy (Arnie) Maciej, Tammy (Gary) Jendro and Jim (Renee) Krueger all of Royalton, MN; twelve grandchildren; Chad (Lorie) Duevel, Laura (Luke) Sullivan, Casey Duevel (fiancAC., Guy Budinger), Christopher Maciej, Nicole Maciej (Shane Rohman), Aaron Maciej (Erin Presler), Tyler Jendro, Leah Jendro, Cole Jendro, Cody Krueger, Danielle Krueger and Breanna Krueger; six great-grandchildren: Kellan, Kendra, Morgan and Sascha Duevel, Maja, Cameron and Logan Sullivan. His brothers, Henry Krueger and LeRoy Krueger (Renee Holthaus) and his sister, Patricia Nelson also survive him. His father, Henry (1982), his mother, Bertha (1976) and his brothers, Clarence (1988), Harold (1950), Jerome (2005) and Vernon (2002) will greet him in heaven. Pallbearers are his grandsons, Chad Duevel, Christopher Maciej, Aaron Maciej, Tyler Jendro, Cole Jendro and Cody Krueger. Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters, Laura Sullivan, Casey Duevel, Nicole Maciej, Leah Jendro, Danielle Krueger and Breanna Krueger. "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing." II Timothy 4:6-8
