Wilma Kippley

Wilma Kippley, 90 year resident of Little Falls formerly of Pierz, died Monday, July 16 at St. Ottos Care in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 20 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating, the burial will be held in in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday and from 9:00-10:15 A.M. on Friday all visitation times will be held at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz. A Christian Mothers Rosary will be held at 4:30 P.M. The Pierz American Legion Auxiliary will pray at 5:00 P.M.

Wilma (Flicker) Kippley was born on May 28, 1928 in Granite Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the daughter of Michael and Regina (Boser) Flicker. She attended grade school in Pierz and continued her education at St. Francis School in Little Falls where she graduated in 1945. After high school she worked at Thielens Market. She was united in marriage to Myles Kippley on April 14, 1948 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz. Together they farmed in Pierz Township until October of 1987 when they moved to their home on the north end of Pierz. Wilma then moved to Alverna Apartments in Little Falls in July of 2010 and to St. Ottos Care Center in July of 2013. Wilma was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, the Christian Mothers and the Pierz American Legion Auxiliary. Wilma enjoyed gardening, reading, embroidery and playing card. She was always involved in the activities at St. Ottos Care Center whether it was playing games, painting, and embroidery or enjoying the musical entertainment.

She is survived by her children, Mary Kippley of Little Falls, Thomas Kippley and Daniel Kippley both of St. Cloud and Carol (Tony) Wells of Rochester; three grandsons, Steve Wells of Minneapolis, Kevin Wells of Robbinsdale and Nathan Wells of St. Louis Park; sister, Jeanette Menden of Pierz as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myles; parents, Michael and Regina Flicker; sisters, Arlene Flicker, Elaine (John) Block, Sister, Sylvia (Nedra) Flicker, OSB and Patricia Flicker; brother, Ervin Flicker and an infant brother.

The family of Wilma would like to extend thanks to the staff of St. Ottos Care Center especially those on the 3rd floor for the excellent care provided to mom for the past five years.
