Zita Poser

Zita Poser, 88 year old resident of Pierz, MN died Friday, February 26 at St. Gabriels Hospital in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 1 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN with Father Greg Poser and Father Kenneth Popp officiating. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 29 at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN and from 9:00-10:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rosary Sodality will pray the Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 6:00 P.M. on Monday evening.

Zita Mary Welle was born on February 27, 1927 in Buh Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late George and Martha (Wagner) Welle. She attended DistrictCountry School near Lastrup, MN. After completing her schooling, Zita worked at the Breckenridge Hospital for the Franciscans Sisters for a few years. She also worked at Welles Store in Lastrup, MN. Zita was united in marriage to Urban Lawrence Poser on August 17, 1954 at St. Johns Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup, MN. The couple made their home near Pierz. They owned and operated Poser Oil for nearly twenty years. Zita worked as the business manager for Poser Oil and also did catering and cared for the couples seven children. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, crocheting, bingo, family picnics and get togethers. She was known for her baking especially her chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and active with the Rosary Sodality. Zita was also a member of the Pierz American Legion Auxiliary.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Allen (Jeanne) Poser of Pierz, Charlie (Debbie) Poser of Pierz, MN, Julie (special friend, Wilfred Gruber) Poser of Pierz, MN, Mary (Gene) Aitkens of Pine City, MN, Gary Poser of Forest Lake, MN, Brian (Michele) Poser of Pierz and Bruce (Margie) Poser of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Chad (Katie) Poser, Melissa Poser, Amanda (Mark) Winscher, Mike (special friend, Karla) Poser, Kelly (Robbie) Becker, Scott Poser, Terri Tretter, AJ Tretter, Derek Poser, Abby Poser and Ethan Poser; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Esther Poser of Pierz, MN, Diane Poser of Pierz, MN, Nancy Poser of New Berlin, WI and Alice Poser of West Allis, WI; brother-in-law, Ken Sanders of Charleston Heights, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Welle; husband, Urban Poser; siblings, Elizabeth Poser, Leo Welle, Aloysius Welle and Alcuin Welle.
