Marvin Copa, age 54, of Barrows, MN, near Brainerd, passed away Saturday, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN as the result of a fall and a severe head injury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 2nd and 9:00 - 10:00 A. M. Thursday, March 3rd all at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Marvin Ambrose Copa was born on December 7, 1956 in Little Falls, MN, the son of Martin & Veronica (Schneider) Copa, Sr. He grew up on a farm west of Little Falls. He attended country school, Our Lady of Lourdes grade school and graduated from Little Falls High School, Class of 1975. Following his schooling he farmed with his parents and cared for them up to their deaths. Following the death of his father, he moved to Barrows where he resided at the time of his death. Marvin enjoyed gardening, working on tractors, fishing and spending time with friends and family, especially his nephew, Matthew. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He was very generous with his time and gentle in manner. His sense of humor always made people smile and laugh. He will be remembered with a smile, but sadly missed by many, especially his dog, Buddie Buds. Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, George (Dona Leonhard) of Salem, OR, Don Copa of Little Falls, MN, Joe (Marlene) Copa of Little Falls and Martin (Shelly Zimmerman) of Barrows, MN; many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Martin & Veronica (Schneider) Copa, Sr.; brother, Hubert Copa; two sisters-in-law, both named Pat Copa; special friend, Twyla Fairben. Arrangements are with Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN.
