Agnes Millner

Agnes Millner, age 86 of Pierz, MN passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Pierz, Villa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman with the Rev. Gerald Dalseth and Rev Robert Schmitz con-celebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Church in Buckman. Agnes was born September 17, 1924 in Petersburg, NE to the late John J. & Margaret (Grendler) Schmitz. She grew up in Nebraska. Agnes was united in marriage to Joe Hoefler on January 27, 1948. The couple farmed in Albion, NE until 1957. Agnes and Joe adopted a son, George, in 1956. In 1957, they moved to Buckman, MN. In 1959, Agnes and Joe adopted another child, this time a girl named, Ann. Joe died on November 12, 1969. With the help of neighbors, Agnes continued to farm. Three years later she met and married Reinhard Millner on March 31, 1975. The couple moved to Pierz in 1978. Rienhard died April 12, 2006. Agnes was a member of St. Michael's Church in Buckman and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed quilt making, crocheting, traveling, fishing, flower gardening and caring for her grandchildren. She is survived by a son, George (Deana) Hoefler of Buckman, MN; daughter, Ann (Allan) Storkamp of Pierz, MN; stepsons, Dennis (Jean) Millner of St. Peter, MN, David (Connie) Millner of New York, Chuck (Deb) Millner of Pierz, MN, Joel (Pat) Millner of Pennsylvania,; step-daughters, Bonnie (Don A.) Marshik of Buckman, MN, Sandy (Larry) Smith of Crookston, MN, and Joyce Wilcek of Minneapolis, MN; brothers Herman Schmitz of Norfolk, NE and Father Robert Schmitz of Omaha, NE; sisters, Margaret Sier of Petersburg, NE and Sister Gretta Schmitz, O.S.F of West Virginia; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 16 step-granchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Hoefler, on November 12, 1969; second husband, Reinhard Millner, on April 12, 2006; step-son, Dale Millner; brothers, Leonard, Albert & George Schmitz and a sister Theresa. Casketbearers are Casey Brummer, Josi Hoefler, John Hoefler, Chris Becker, Kelly Storkamp, Lynn Storkamp, Shari Storkamp and Alissa Storkamp.
