Therese (Elsie) Belcher, 82 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Wednesday at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 24 at 10 A.M. at First United Church in Little Falls, MN with Rev. Loren Olson officiating. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday, December 23 at First United Church in Little Falls, MN. and from 9-10 AM on Monday at the Church. Therese was born October 9, 1925 in Nuremberg, Germany to the late Franz Thalhofer and Therese Dumm Thalhofer. She was educated at Volkschule St. Leonhard and Universitat Erlangen-Nuremberg. During World War II she worked for VDM as a Draftsman. One of her prominent memories was a railroad trip to Frankfurt, carrying secret plans, requiring days to return to Nuremberg since the railroad tracks had been bombed out. She was united in marriage to Royden Belcher on December 23, 1953 in Nuremberg, Germany. The couple moved to the United States on May 4, 1954 and settled first in Graceville, MN, before moving to Little Falls, MN in June of 1956. She was a member of First United Church in Little Falls, MN and belonged to the Women's Society Christian Service (WSCS). Therese enjoyed gardening and traveling to Germany. She was past-president of the Hospital Auxiliary and PTA. She is survived by her husband, Royden Belcher of Little Falls, MN; son Perry Belcher and friend, Robyn Gray of Little Falls, MN; sister, EvaMarie Valenta of Wurzburg, Germany; sister-in-law, Erna Thalhofer of Nuremberg, Germany as well as one nephew and two nieces in Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Franz and Therese Dumm Thalhofer; brother, Gunther Thalhofer.
