Betty Agnes Doroff

Isabel "Betty" A. Doroff, age 81 of Little Falls, MN passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 at her home in west Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and Friday from 8:00-10:00 A.M, at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (West Chapel) in Little Falls. Christian Women will prayer a rosary Thursday afternoon at 4:30 P.M. at the funeral chapel followed by parish prayers at 6:30 P.M. Betty was born December 21, 1925 in Royalton, MN to the late Peter & Gertrude (Dubiel) Smieja. She grew up in rural Royalton. She left home to work in the Twin Cities for over a year and returned home to Royalton. Betty later met and married Florian Doroff on May 15, 1946. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Little Falls. In 1959, Betty and Florian built the Dairy Treat and together operated the business for over 18 years. After selling the business in 1977, Betty was employed by Servicemaster for 15 years. She also worked at the Dewey-Radke House at Pine Grove Park for ten years as a tour guide of the historical home. She enjoyed being outdoors, watching the birds, squirrels, fishing and gardening. Betty was always up for new adventure. She loved her family and having them come home to spend time with her. Betty is survived by her husband, Florian; sons & daughters, Dennis Doroff of Denver, CO, Karen Doroff-Johnson & husband, Steve, of St. Paul, MN, Gary Doroff & wife, Kathi, of Fargo, ND, Cynthia Doroff of Waconia, MN, Roxanne Rickert & husband, Michael, of New Germany, MN and Lisa Orpen & husband, Tim, of Burns Township, MN; grandchildren, Breanne & Ryan Doroff & Kevin & Christopher Orpen; sisters-in-law, Ione Smieja, of Swanville, MN, Marian Smieja of Royalton, MN and Agnes Smieja of Wayzata, MN; brother-in-law, Clarence Bursey of Shakopee, MN and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; father & mother-in-law, Joseph & Susan Doroff; brothers, Adolph, Albert, Benny, Clarence, Lawrence, Ralph & Roman Smieja; sisters, Eleanor Novitzski, Irene Bursey & Marcella Bursey. Casketbearers are Brad Bursey, Ryan Doroff, Steve Johnson, Tim Orpen, Michael Rickert & Jerry Wilmes.
