Roy Oswald

Roy Oswald, age 95, of Swanville, MN passed away on March 13, 2007 at Long Prairie Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville, with Rev. John Grein officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 15th from 4:00 a" 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a" 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville. Interment will be at Emmanuel Cemetery. Roy was born on December 25, 1911 in Terrace, Minnesota to Paul & Lillie (Barrett) Oswald. Roy grew up and attended school in the Terrace area. He worked on the John Morton Farm. Roy was united in marriage to Eleanor Miller on October 12, 1940 in Glenwood, Minnesota. The couple moved to Culdrum Township where they made their home in 1943. Roy enjoyed thrashing, custom farming, fixing his equipment, electrical work, wood working, loved his animals and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of St. Peter's church in Swanville, Minnesota. Roy is survived by his children, Betty (Lyle) Troupe of Mora, MN, Andrew (Carolyn) Oswald of Swanville, MN, Gladys (Jim) Keopp of Oakdale, MN, Roy Oswald Jr. of Swanville, MN, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor on May 13, 1991; infant brother, George Oswald, sisters, Edith Schultz & Gertrude Carlson and great-grandson, William Andrew Oswald. Casket Bearers will be Aaron Tschida, William Oswald, Mathew Putz, Jason Whited, Eric Kreidermacher and Christopher Fliss.
