Sister Mary Clara Frey

Sister Clara Frey, 89, died on March 20, 2007, at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls, Minn. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis Convent on Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at St. Francis Convent on Friday, March 23, from 4 - 8:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral on March 24. A wake service will be held at the Convent at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 23. Arrangements are by the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, Little Falls. Sister Clara was born on January 27, 1918, near Randall, Minn. She was the fourth of seven children born to the late August and Katheryn (Kempenich) Frey. She was accepted as a Franciscan Sister on August 12, 1945. She made first profession of vows on August 12, 1947, and final vows on August 12, 1950. She was a Franciscan Sister for 61 years. Sister Clara ministered as a staff nurse and pastoral associate. She served in Dodgeville, and Darlington, Wis,; Tucson, Ariz.; Perham, Onamia, Breckenridge, Little Canada and Little Falls, Minn. Sister Clara was preceded in death by siblings: Mathilda Botsford, Veronica Schommer, Catherine Ruths, Arnold and Joseph. She is survived by her brother, Albert (Eleanor), Randall, nieces and nephews, and her Franciscan Community. Donations to Franciscan Sisters Ministries preferred.
