Marion Swanson, 82 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Wednesday, August 15 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 21 at 11:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Monday, August 20 at the Emblom-Brenny East Chapel. Parish prayers will be said at 5:30 PM. followed by Christian Mother's Rosary at 6:30 PM at the funeral chapel. Marion was born September 20, 1924 in Lake Elizabeth Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota to the late Andrew and Myrtle (Hansen) Peterson She grew up and attended elementary school in Spicer and Willmar, MN. Her family moved to Little Falls, MN, where she graduated from Little Falls Community High School. She attended St. Gabriel's School of Nursing, she also served in the Cadet Nurses Corp. Marion was united in marriage to Harleigh Swanson on October 12, 1946 in Little Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Little Falls, MN. She was a stay at home wife and wonderful mother. Marion was a Blue Bird Campfire Leader, member of the St. Mary's Christian Mothers and St. Mary's Church, Mrs. Jaycees where she received the D.S.A Award in 1961, VFW Auxiliary Post #1112, charter member of the Dandee Lions where she received the Melvin Jones Award this past year. Marion always said, if she could choose she'd always choose her life to be exactly as it was. She is survived by her daughters, Terese Saunders and husband, Seth, of Warsaw, MO, Dione Wenner and husband, Robert, of Minneapolis, MN; brother, Derryl Peterson of Minneapolis, MN; sisters, Duaine Olson of Thief River Falls, MN, Virginia Herzog of Paynesville, MN, Donna Srnsky of Grand Forks ND, Joan Halvorson of Little Falls, MN; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and two grand kittys. She was preceded in death by her husband Harleigh in 1999; mother and father; sister, Audrey Israelson; brothers, Eugene Peterson and John Peterson. Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service East Chapel. 1-320-632-4393.
